How did we get here?
On Thursday, 3rd September 2026, CAF in partnership with Child Protection Network CPN – Plateau State Convened a stakeholders’ strategic meeting on child welfare in Jebbu Miango. The engagement brought together community leaders and members as well as key government agencies and civil society organizations.
Representatives from The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA , Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Plateau state, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons Naptip Nigeria , Plateau State Gender And Equal Opportunities Commission , National Human Rights Commission Nigeria Plateau state, Trauma Free World, and Child Protection Network, Plateau State, took turns to engage with community members on pressing issues of child welfare and protection.
Discussions were centered around growing concerns of child neglect, abuse, and other threats to the wellbeing and future of children in the community. This engagement was designed to build the capacity of the stakeholders, so they can within the boundaries of the law champion Child Protection in the community.
Every child deserves to be protected, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.
CAF will continue to work with relevant stakeholders and community structures to take meaningful action to prevent and mitigate child abuse, neglect, and other risks affecting children in Jebbu Miango.
