Since 2019, we have reached out to children in rural communities with the love and joy of Christmas. So far, we have reached a out 6000 children from at least 14 communities.
Each Christmas, we reach out to rural children and our outreach features; Grooming (barbing and plaiting), food, games and play, the christmas story and distribution of personal hygiene effect packs to every child. A personal hygiene effect pack consists of a toothbrush, tube of toothpaste, pommade, sponge, bathing soap and sanitary pads for the older girls. The idea is to promote and support hygiene amongst rural children.
This December, we plan to again reach out to 1200 children from Kwall district of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State. The children we are serving this year have a special story. Their home community, Zikke in Kwall, Plateau State, was attacked on Palm Sunday, April 13th, 2025. Unfortunately, many children were displaced as a result. This year’s Christmas party will serve as an opportunity for us to display what joy after grief looks like and to show the children and community that they are loved.
